American Legacies Org, Inc. is a Not-For-Profit Organization that offers a FREE SERVICE, where we meet with, record and preserve the lifetime and/or family memories of American Seniors.

We are currently in the process of updating our website, so that we will be able to utilize a BOOK type display containing the memories and other information, for individuals that have an abundant amount of information stored with us about their lives.

We are also proud to announce that our FREE CHRISTMAS DAY MEAL, was a success and plan on continuing that project every Christmas in select communities, where we have access to enough volunteers willing to assist in the cooking and serving of the meals.
Another new program we are working on involves assisting Seniors that are on a limited income and need a little help taking care of minor yard work, home maintenance and other minor odd jobs.
We are currently looking for local churches willing to assist in locating volunteers to "occasionally" help perform these minor jobs as well as checking on other resources that could help provide additional volunteers.
Once we have the volunteers organized, we want to locate individuals that own a home filled with lots of memories, but need help maintaining "small" yards, changing filters on a furnace, repairing a leaky faucet, or repairing a handicapped ramp.
We realize many people can pay professionals to take care of these projects, however as the wages and prices of professional companies continue to rise, along with insurance rates, medicine costs and taxes, it can become more and more of a struggle for some seniors to cover all of these needs.
As always, we are constantly looking for volunteers willing to sit down and spend some time with elderly individuals in order record their stories of yesteryear, childhood memories and even information they learned from their parents or grandparents, so that we can preserve them for future generations.
We can not accomplish that goal without the help of generous individuals like you, that care about these elderly pioneers.
We also need TYPISTS, willing to take copies of Audio and/or Video Interviews, and convert the data to text and anyone willing and capable of writing GRANT applications for us, on a volunteer basis.
