American Legacies Org, Inc. preserves the stories, experiences, photographs, documents, and traditions that connect generations. We believe every life has a story worth remembering and that preserving those stories strengthens families, communities, and our understanding of American history.
What We Do
American Legacies Org, Inc. is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to historical preservation, family heritage, and community service. Whenever possible, our services are provided free of charge, including:
- FREE Oral and/or Video Interviews of Senior Citizens.
- FREE Digitization, Preservation and Online Publication of Family Histories, Memoirs, Photographs, and Historical Documents.
- FREE Video Preservation of Funeral and Memorial Services.
- FREE Historical and Genealogical Preservation Assistance and Training.
- FREE Holiday Meals, Music, Gifts, and Fellowship for Seniors who Live Alone.
- FREE Minor Household Chores and Property-Maintenance Assistance for Seniors.
Through these efforts, we preserve the past while serving people in our communities today.
Our Experience and Public Impact
Since 1996, American Legacies Org, Inc. has:
- Preserved Thousands of Digitized Historical Family Images, Stories and Historical Documents from Communities all Across America.
- Conducted Oral and/or Video Interviews Documenting Personal Experiences of Everyday Americans and their Memories of Family Life Growing Up in America.
- Made Oral, Video, and Written Histories Available to the Public Free of Charge Through our Website.
- Organized Community Activities that Help Seniors Share their Memories, Experiences, and Traditions.
Our growing digital archive serves families, educators, genealogists, historians, students, veterans, and community researchers. It helps preserve the stories of ordinary people whose lives are an essential part of our shared heritage.
History is more than dates, famous names, and events in textbooks. It lives in family photographs, handwritten letters, military memories, treasured recipes, personal experiences, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next.
Every story preserved today can become a lasting resource for tomorrow.
