You may also submit queries or your family histories to this magazine. Genealogy is a group effort, there are many others seeking the same families and hopefully we will be able to connect them with you!
I am looking for information on the GOCHENOUR School in York Co., PA. It was in use in the mid-late 1800's. The building was torn down in 1960 and a home was built in its place. Any information on the history of this school or the associated GOCHENOUR family in this area would be greatly appreciated! W.G.

I am seeking information on Cosmos POORMAN, born 10-14-1850 in Dauphin Co., PA (Palmyra area). He was the son of John and Leah (GRUBER) POORMAN.
Cosmos married Emma STUCKEY who was killed on 11-8-1878 at age 24 from a fall off the hay baler. She was pregnant with her third child.
On January 14, 1884 a distraught Cosmos left his two young sons behind with family in Palmyra, PA to seek a fortune in Alaska's gold rush. He made stops in Kansas, Missouri, and California. He was never heard from again.
What happened to Cosmos? His family had him declared dead in the Lebanon County Court, Lebanon, PA in March of 1903 after more than seven years went by with no word from him. B.A.

Looking for parents, siblings, children or any other information about Jan ROELOFSE. He sailed to New Amsterdam on the DeStatyn from Amsterdam, Holland on September 27, 1663.
Married August 23, 1665 to Tytje LIPPES (Dutch Church of NY.) At the time of his marriage, he was known as Han ROELOFS VAN VLECKER.
A later reference to him on a deed referred to him as Jan ROELOFSEN VAN VLECKEREN.
I am also looking for information on the parents and descendants or any other information about Marinus ROELOFSE VAN VLECKEREN.
