I am willing to volunteer at least ONE HOUR PER MONTH OR PER YEAR in order to have a positive effect on the life of another individual now, as well as become a positive influence on the lives of others hundreds of years in the future.
Talk with and listen to senior citizens on a regular basis, at least 1 hour per month. Cook at least one dish or dessert per year for our FREE Christmas Dinner or another FREE Holiday Meal. Help serve meals during one of our FREE Holiday Parties, at least one time per year. Help decorate during one of our FREE Holiday Parties, at least one time per year. Help set up OR tear down tables and chairs during one of our FREE Holiday Parties, at least one time per year. Lead the singing of Christmas Carols or other old songs at least once a year during one of our FREE Holiday Celebrations. Place posters on bulletin boards at public libraries, restaurants, gas stations, banks, etc., located close to my residence, at least once a year. Submit pre-written promotional material to local newspapers, radio stations, or social media groups in my county, at least once per year. Assist with "layouts" of books or magazines. Assist with binding, cutting, or assembly of magazines or books in specific geographical areas. Assist with dog walking, in Emergency Situations. Assist with minor yard work, such as raking leaves or shoveling snow from porches and sidewalks. Join local Historical Societies or ask to speak at one of their meetings to introduce American Legacies. Assist others with Genealogy research by teaching them how to conduct research or by conducting a "minor amount" of research for them. Upload local "Legacies Stories," scanned documents, and photographs to our websites. Review Legacies Stories posted on our websites to make sure they are acceptable. Submit articles to AI for proofreading. Review articles that were submitted to AI to make sure dialects or local phrases were not changed. Conduct full-length interviews of Seniors, at least one Senior per year. Interviews may take from 1 hour to 6 hours. Scan photographs, images, and documents. Take snapshots of old photographs and documents using a cell phone and submit them to Corporate, so they can be converted to flash drives and placed on our websites. Distribute books to local libraries, VFW Posts, and Historical Societies. Help update our websites. Learn Web Design in order to assist in maintaining our websites. Sit on an Advisory Board or Committee Help establish an American Legacies Chapter in my area.
