Grade 5A-B
The children in this room are making an Indian wall panel. Each child plans a stencil of an Indian, wigwam, canoe or pottery for the panel of unbleached muslin. The pictures are colored with wax crayon and will be pressed with a hot iron.
The 5A class has been studying the life of Robert Fulton and the “Story of Ships”. The pupils have made a collection of pictures of ships.
The class has organized a Current Events Club in connection with our English work. The following Officers were elected:
Wilma Mae Jackman – President
Alta Marie Morgan – Vice President
Edith Dixon – Secretary
The current topics are discussed at the regular English period on Monday of each week.
Grade 5
The fifth grade pupils have been collecting seeds while studying how they are scattered.
One section of the Arithmetic class has started its work on fractions.
Richard Seybold moved to the country at the beginning of this month’s work.
Grade 4
The students of grade four have found it very interesting studying the Spanish Explorers in history. They are studying fables in their reading class and find that this teaches them good lessons.
John Salyers took an airplane ride and says he enjoyed it very much.
Grade 3
Winston Mayfield was visiting down in Missouri last week and brought back cotton plants. The children are studying about cotton and also in the sand table they have all kinds of flowers.
Grade 2
This class’s nature study for the month of October has been the different ways plants and animals prepare for winter. Only plants and animals were included as subjects which could be easily observed by the children.
